## HOW TO VOTE
**Make your voice count in Richmond Hill’s 2026 Municipal Election.**
### 1. Make sure you’re eligible to vote
You can vote if you:
* Are a Canadian citizen
* Are at least 18 years old on or before October 26, 2026
* Are a resident of Richmond Hill, **or** own or rent property in Richmond Hill, or are the spouse of someone who does
* Are not otherwise prohibited from voting by law
### 2. Check that you’re on the Voters’ List
You must be on the Voters’ List to vote.
Starting **September 1**, you can check, add, or update your voter information online. If you’ve moved, changed your name, or your information has changed since the last election, make sure it is up to date.

### 3. Know what you’ll be voting for
Richmond Hill voters will elect:
* **1 Mayor**
* **Up to 2 Regional & Local Councillors**
* **1 Ward Councillor**
* **School Board Trustee(s)**, depending on your school board
If you live in **Ward 5**, you will be voting for your Ward 5 Councillor.
### 4. Choose how you want to vote

**Vote in person**
* 📅 Saturday, October 24 — 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
* 📅 Sunday, October 25 — 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
* 📅 Monday, October 26 — 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
* Visit a designated Richmond Hill Vote Centre and cast your ballot in person.
### 5. Watch for your Voter Information Package
Your **Voter Information Package (VIP)** will arrive in the mail in late September or early October. It will include important information about voting and instructions for casting your ballot.
