How to Vote?
Make your voice count in Richmond Hill’s 2026 Municipal Election
1. Make sure you’re eligible to vote
You can vote if you're:
A Canadian citizen
At least 18 years old on or before October 26, 2026
A resident of Richmond Hill, or own or rent property in Richmond Hill, or are the spouse of someone who does
2. Check that you’re on the Voters’ List
You must be on the Voters’ List to vote
Starting September 1, 2026, you can check, add, or update your voter information online. If you’ve moved, changed your name, or your information has changed since the last election, make sure it is up to date.

3. Know who you’ll be voting for
Richmond Hill voters will elect:
- Mayor
- Up to 2 Regional & Local Councillors
- List Item #3
- School Board Trustee(s), depending on your school board
If you live in Ward 5, you will be voting for your Ward 5 Councillor.
